Membership terms

Access is a $4.99 monthly donation for access. Early-cancellation and refund details are still under treasurer/counsel review.

Donation disclosure

Your $4.99 monthly donation for access is a contribution to Faith and Reason Political Action Committee (FPPC ID #1496736). It is not a purchase and is not tax-deductible. Only U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents may contribute; foreign nationals may not. State law requires us to collect each contributor's name, address, occupation and employer, and contributors of $100 or more are publicly reported. The monthly donation recurs until you cancel. You can cancel any time: sign in at fairpac-members, open your Dashboard and click Cancel membership, or email amy.young@fairpac.org. Any charge made after a cancel request is refunded within 14 days (Cal. Gov. Code §85701.5).

A $4.99 monthly donation for access. It recurs monthly until you cancel; cancel any time from your dashboard. The first donation is made when you join, then on the same day each month.

Cancelling

Cancel online at any time: sign in, open your dashboard, and click Cancel membership. Access continues through the end of the month you have already donated for.

Refunds

Any charge made after a cancel request is refunded within 14 days (Cal. Gov. Code §85701.5). [Counsel/treasurer to confirm.]

Personal civic use

Membership is for personal civic use: reading, researching and sharing what you learn as a voter or citizen. Commercial use, legal-practice use (for example, researching a judge for a client's case), bulk downloading, scraping, or reselling the records requires a separate license. Request a license by choosing "Commercial / legal-practice use". We may review accounts with unusual usage and will contact you before taking any action. [Pending counsel review.]

Wake the Bench designation

Donations made through Wake the Bench are designated for acquiring and digesting public court records and for the judicial-accountability mission. [Designation wording pending counsel review.]

Contributions

Membership payments are political contributions to Faith and Reason Political Action Committee and are not tax deductible. You must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, and contribute your own funds.
