Privacy policy

Effective date: October 10, 2026. This policy covers all Faith and Reason Political Action Committee ("FairPAC", FPPC ID #1496736) websites, including fairpac.org, the FairPAC member login, and the Wake sites (Wake the Nation, Policy, Bench, Bear, Race, Doc, Party, Self, Family and World), plus noceo.org.

What we collect

• Account information: the email address you use to sign in (and your name if you join), plus the consents you choose. Email is required before you donate so your donation can be matched to your account. We use your email for receipts, sign-in links and access, and for contribution records the FPPC requires; we use it for updates only if you opt in.
• Donor information, through Anedot: when you donate, our payment processor Anedot collects your name, street address, occupation, employer, email, and payment details. FairPAC receives your contribution record from Anedot; we do not receive or store full card numbers.
• Cookies and session data: a sign-in session and a short-lived access cookie (about 15 minutes) that lets member pages open after you sign in, plus standard server logs (such as IP address, browser and pages requested) used for security and troubleshooting.

Why we collect it

• Legal reporting: California law requires political committees to collect and report contributor information to the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) and the Secretary of State.
• Account access: to sign you in, confirm your membership, and open members-only content.
• To send the receipts and cancellation information the law requires for recurring donations, and other messages you agree to receive.

Public reporting

If your contributions to FairPAC total $100 or more, state law requires us to report your name, street address, occupation, employer, and the date and amount of your contributions on public campaign filings. Those filings are public records and are posted online by the State of California.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We do not share it with CureRays, with any candidate or candidate campaign, or with any other third party, except:

• our service providers that process data for us: Anedot (donations) and Google Cloud / Firebase (sign-in, hosting and data storage), under their own security and privacy terms; and
• as the law requires, including public filings with the FPPC and the Secretary of State, or in response to valid legal process.

How long we keep it

We keep contribution records for as long as California campaign law requires committees to keep them (generally at least four years after the related filing). We keep account information while your account is open, and delete or de-identify it after you ask us to close it, unless the law requires us to keep it. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security.

Your choices

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email amy.young@fairpac.org. We will honor deletion requests except for records we must keep by law (for example, contribution records already reported or required for an audit). You can unsubscribe from updates at any time from your dashboard or the link in any email.
